What’s in a Name

On the surface, the name Care-is Community may sound pretty simple; on the other hand, it is actually full of meaning.

The first part of our name comes from the Greek word Charis or Karis, which sounds like “Care-is” when pronounced in English.

By definition it means kindness and grace, as a gift or blessing brought to man by Jesus Christ.

We believe with the help of community we can share this kindness and grace with the victims of sex trafficking.

Our prayer is for grace to transform lives making it possible to transform communities.
